ANXIETY


All anxiety involves the person worrying about some aspect of the future. There is always an underestimation of the person’s ability to cope. The person becomes hyper vigilant regarding the situation of concern. The person ruminates on the problem constantly – this causes the problem to build and build.

Anxious people may experience:

  • Poor sleep patterns.

  • Poor memory.
  • Poor concentration.
  • Irritability.
  • Social withdrawal.
  • Diarrhoea or constipation.
  • Excessive sweating.
  • Heart racing / palpitations.
  • Tense muscles.
  • Headaches.
  • Other symptoms.
  • Depression and stress can also co-exist with Anxiety.
  • Anxiety which began with one particular problem may extend to other situations.
  • The anxiety may effect close relationships, your work life, and your home life.
  • Situations will often feel out of your control.
